Waterjet Cutting Titanium
Our waterjet cuts your titanium parts cleanly, efficiently, and without heat, which reduces the final machining needed. No tooling or other special preparation is necessary to cut titanium with waterjet. The thickest titanium Definitive Solutions cuts is 10″, and the thinnest we have cut is 0.03″. Titanium nests well to reduce material waste, for additional money savings. If you can stick your titanium under the jet, we can cut it!
This video shows a 18″ x 18″ x 5/8″ (w) piece of titanium being cut. The waterjet machine being used is a Flow Ultra High Pressure Waterjet cutting machine. We are cutting at a rate of 3″ per minute. This waterjet machine is cutting with a 60,000 PSI (pounds per square inch) jet stream. This customer’s titanium part will be used in an underwater research facility.
